A mother and her 14 months old daughter were killed after being hit by stray bullets when robbers laid siege close to their house at Block 8, 23 Road House in Festac Town, Lagos, shooting sporadically from a machine gun during a bank robbery in Festac.
Uju, one of the residents of Block 8, where the stray bullet hit Mrs. Jane Beluchukwu-Ndirika, a nurse and her 14-month-old daughter Nmesoma said:
“While the shooting was going on, every one laid on the floor in their respective apartments. I was with Jane in her parlour while her child was inside the room. Suddenly, the child started crying and the mother stood up to carry her.
As she was coming to the sitting room with the baby, a stray bullet perforated the window, hit the baby in the chest and also got the mother on the left side of her shoulder.
Immediately, she took the child back to the room and started shouting for help. Nobody came to her rescue because people were running helter skelter for dear life.”
However, when the dust settled, a neighbour, identified as Irabor Sunday, reportedly rushed them to Mother and Child Hospital at the First Gate in Festac where they were confirmed dead.
The baby was, thereafter, taken back to the house while her mother was rushed to Lord’s Chosen Church where a prayer session was organized for her revival.

According to Date360, a seven year old girl has revealed how her dad, Mr Chukwuemeka Odunzie went about defiling her serially.
She revealed that her dad rewarded her after touching her privates or putting his p*nis in her mouth when her mother wasn't looking.
My dad usually gives me money after touching my privates or putting his p*nis in my mouth when my mother is washing clothes or away from home.
The mother only decided to report this atrocious happenings after said father refused to curb his evil ways and continued to assault his own daughters, encouraging harlotry by giving money to whoever didn't complain and 'beating' those who dared.
I hope human right lawyers and NGO's take this up and treat it if they haven't already (as this isn't exactly recent news) as the assault and probably rape case which it is.

Some weeks back, i was at a friend's place and we decided to knock some noodle's up. So he went to a shop nearby and got some noodles and of course, eggs.
On opening the eggs when it was time to introduce it, a certain turbidity was what he first noticed and when he called my attention, we both agreed the egg was spoilt.
So i stumbled on this informative read on foodsng.com and decided to share so you don't have to waste your time and money of course or worse still, pour spoilt egg in your noodles as in my case.
1. The Shake shake test!
You have to be careful when doing this when you are buying in some markets if you don’t want to receive showers of abuses from the sellers. With this test you just need to take some samples randomly from the crates and shake lightly. When you do that, you can tell if the content are still very viscous or gone watery.
I usually don’t take the watery ones because I believe it is an indication they have been around for a longer period, even if they are not spoilt yet.
Another important thing to do when using this method, is to make sure you select your samples randomly. This is to make your samples representative of the whole lot. Take from front, middle and back — you know sellers can mix fresh ones with the not-so-fresh ones.
2. The Egg-in-Water Test or The Float Test
This test cannot be performed in the market. I doubt if any seller would allow you perform this test on eggs before you purchase them. So, this is only suitable for checking egg freshness at home. You might want to ask, “why do I need this test after buying?”
Okay, let us say you want to fry 3 eggs or mix an egg with other ingredients like flour to make cake or something, you have to be sure each egg is fine. What if you have cracked and mixed two fine eggs together and the third one you crack inside turns bad? You have wasted 3 eggs!
Fill a bowl with cold water and place your eggs in the bowl and allow them to stay for some seconds. Then observe how the eggs behave in the water. There are three possibilities.
Arsenal have confirmed that the clubs youngster/Nigerian winger, Alex Iwobi has penned a new long term deal at the Gunners today, Tuesday 6th, after his father suggested he was looking to go out on loan this season.
According to Goal.com, the 19-year-old's father had told media sources that the young winger was looking to acquire a loan move away from the Gunners this season, with a number of lower-league clubs in England thought to be interested in the player who has excelled both at junior level and on the few occasions he's being in the senior team to date, notably in the clubs preseason preparations.
Iwobi is currently on international duty with Nigeria (after agreeing to play for his fatherland notably after underwhelming Liverpool youngster, Jordan Ibe, refused) ahead of matches with the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon, but penned the new deal after becoming a regular feature of the Arsenal's development squad.
A statement on the Arsenal website read: "Alex Iwobi has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.
"Everyone at Arsenal would like to congratulate Alex on his new contract and we look forward to his continued progression in the season ahead."
Iwobi's path to the first team is currently blocked by the sensational Alexis (check: Sanchez) but could be in the team so quickly in event of injuries with failure of Arsene Wenger to recruit much needed cover over the window due to a dearth of talent.
"Alex's preferred option at this stage is to go on loan to gain first team experience and come back to Arsenal later on to fight for a place," the 19-year-old's father said.
"Hopefully a loan move will be sorted out by the time Alex comes back from international duties."
We all wish Alex excellence with the Super eagles, his Arsenal career and his future.
